Full-time Forest school Classes

Woodsong’s full-time forest school classes are for students ages 5-10 years old, in Kindergarten though 5th grade. In this holistic approach to education, we work to harness the power of wonder, curiosity and a child’s love for learning in order to cultivate an educational setting that is full of life and growth. Reggio Emilia, Waldorf, and Montessori educational philosophies have shaped this original play-based curriculum.

All learning is seasonal and nature-based, while being connected to the children’s daily outdoor discoveries. Our full-time programs operate as a homeschool tutorial. The rhythms of their day mirror the breath; inhales and exhales of learning experiences that are balanced between being teacher facilitated yet child-centered, and child directed exploration in the forest. In our inspiring and beautiful cabin classrooms, our students flow through delight-led nature based learning experiences each day that are rooted in developmentally appropriate learning in math, reading, language arts, science, STEM, and creative arts. Our forest school students also participate in Music,Spanish, Art, Science, Service Learning and G.E.M. classes, as well as extracurricular activities like Running Club.
